Shrek the Musical

Author: Shrek the Musical is a musical with music by Jeanine Tesori and a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. It is based on the 1990 book Shrek! by William Steig and the 2001 DreamWorks film of the same name it inspired.
After a tryout in Seattle, Washington, the musical opened on Broadway in December 2008. The show was nominated for eight Tony Awards and won Best Costume Design of a Musical for Tim Hatley. It was also nominated for twelve Drama Desk Awards, winning three.
